The best place to start is with a free 15-minute consultation. We’ll talk about what you’re looking for, what has been feeling hard and if EMDR intensive feels like the right fit.
You do not have to know exactly where to begin. We can figure that out together.

Our first session is about getting a clear sense of what brings you in, what you’re hoping to work on, and whether EMDR intensive work feels like the right fit.
We’ll talk through some of your history, current symptoms, goals, and what feels most important to focus on. I may ask about trauma history, relationships, coping, support, and what you’ve already tried in therapy.
We will not rush into the deepest material right away.
A big part of the first session is making sure you feel oriented, prepared, and supported before we do any deeper EMDR processing. We’ll talk about how EMDR works, what an intensive can look like, what preparation may be needed, and what pace makes sense for your nervous system.
By the end, we should have a clearer plan for what kind of support fits best, whether that includes an EMDR intensive, preparation sessions, or another recommendation.

EMDR may be a good fit if you feel like you understand your patterns, but your body still reacts as if the past is happening now.
A lot of the people I work with are very self-aware. They can explain their childhood, their attachment patterns, their anxiety, their people-pleasing, their shutdown, their relationship dynamics, and still feel stuck in the same old responses.
EMDR can be helpful when talking about it has helped you understand the “why,” but hasn’t fully helped your nervous system feel safer.
It may be worth exploring if you notice things like:
You overthink everything.
You feel responsible for everyone else’s feelings.
You shut down, spiral, freeze, fawn, or panic even when you “know better.”
You have old memories or relationship patterns that still feel charged.
You can function really well, but inside you feel exhausted, braced, or not fully settled.
EMDR is not the right fit for every person at every moment, which is why we start with a consultation and preparation before doing deeper processing. We’ll talk through your history, what you’re hoping to work on, and whether EMDR intensive work feels appropriate for where you are right now.

Call the number on your member card and ask:
“What are my out of network mental health benefits for individual psychotherapy with an LICSW?”
“What is my copay or coinsurance, and do I have a deductible to meet?”
“Is there a session limit or any exclusions I should know about?
